Psychiatric care that goes beyond the diagnosis
Cotallat Psychiatry is a team of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners caring for adults ages 18 to 65. Our nursing background shapes the way we approach mental health care. We look beyond a diagnosis and take time to understand the different parts of your life that may be affecting how you feel, including your physical health, sleep, routines, relationships, stress, and past experiences. We want you to feel heard, understand your options, and be an active part of the decisions made about your care.

Why Cotallat Psychiatry began
Cotallat Psychiatry was founded by Ariel Cotallat with the goal of creating a practice that felt different from the rushed, impersonal experience people can sometimes have in mental health care. The idea was to build a place where there is time to talk, questions are welcomed, and treatment decisions are made together. As the practice has grown, that same approach continues to shape how our team cares for each person who comes through our doors.
Why clients choose us
Time that isn’t rushed
Every follow-up visit is reserved for 30 minutes. Some visits may only take a few minutes, while others may use the full time, but that time is set aside for you so there is room to ask questions, talk through concerns, and address anything that needs more attention.
Someone who knows you
You’ll continue seeing the same provider over time, so your care can build on an ongoing relationship rather than starting over at each visit.
Decisions made together
We explain your options, possible side effects, and what to expect so you can be involved in decisions about your treatment and feel comfortable asking questions along the way.
More than medication
Medication is only one part of psychiatric care. We also pay attention to sleep, physical health, stress, routines, relationships, and other parts of your life that may be affecting how you feel.
Medication with a purpose
We believe less can sometimes be more. We regularly review what you’re taking, how it’s working, and whether each medication still makes sense for you. When appropriate, we may also discuss supplements and other options that can support your overall treatment plan.
Care that reflects who you are
We’re LGBTQ+ affirming and culturally responsive, and we recognize that identity, culture, and lived experience can all play a role in mental health. Depending on your provider, care may be available in English, Spanish, or Cantonese.
